Internationalist declaration of Bilbao: Creating Alliances between the peoples of Europe and the Americas
Internationalist declaration of Bilbao: Creating Alliances between the peoples of Europe and the Americas
Considering that capitalism, as well as the rest of dimensions that articulate the Multiple System of Domination (patriarchy, productivism, colonialism, racism, cultural hegemony), are responsible for the current situation of systemic vulnerability.
Considering also that, not only have they proven to be incapable of confronting the actual problems that beset humanity and the planet, but they have also started a suicide run, a headlong rush of terrible consequences.
European and American political and social organizations that have signed this declaration undertake:
1. To put in practice the idea that the revolution will be international or it will be nothing. Even though our struggles are, and will continue being, local, national, regional and without borders, we should not forget that the Multiple System of Domination is developed and organized globally and it will only be beaten this way.
2. To finish with the current framework of relationship between the Americas and Europe, that since the 16th century has been following the interests of the market and the reproduction of the capital, violence, racism, coloniality and pillaging. From our internationalist commitment, we will insist on the construction of new ways of relationship between individuals and peoples.
3. To coordinate ourselves in a non-colonialist, horizontal, democratic and effective way to radically end with the multiple system of domination that has dragged the world into an unprecedented crisis. At this critical moment there is no place for changes and improvements, the only possible option is the construction of alternative proposals.
4. To draw up common political agendas out from transforming values and principles, where the crux is the reproduction of life and not the capital. Out from recognition and commitment to diversity and radical democracy as a premise. Out from political strategies that aim for new production, consumption and welfare patterns based on the sustainability of our planet and on collective interests.
5. To give priority, in the political agendas, to common aspects we all share. Have respect for other struggles, make them ours, but it is necessary to put special emphasis on common struggles.
a. To support initiatives for alternative integration and integration of the peoples, like the ones that are currently being carried out in Latin America. Face up to the current patterns of regionalization represented by the European Union (EU) and the Organization of American States (OAE) because they meet the interests of the capital and not the interests of the peoples.
b. To face up to Partnership Agreements between the EU and the Americas as they plead for an unbridled capitalism where the markets and transnational companies rule. To condemn the governments and multilateral bodies that strengthen the anti-popular nature of these agreements.
c. To face up to, condemn, and prevent European transnational companies from depredating in the Americas for the terrible ecological, social, political and economical impact they carry out.
d. To stand up for the right to self-determination of any country without exception and condemn all the anti-democratic cases where the exercise of this internationally recognized right is violated.
e. To strengthen the resistance to austerity policies and plead for the radical modification of the creation and the distribution of wealth, for the defense of public services and the radical break with the capitalist world order.
f. To pledge our commitment to the de-patriarchalization of our states and societies. To acknowledge feminist proposals and struggles, specially against the oldest domination system –men against women-. Only then will we be able to talk about real democracy, justice, equality and emancipation.
g. To pledge our commitment to food sovereignty and agroecology versus industrial agriculture –represented by the CAP- and the intensive single-crop, the use of genetically modified products, plundering of natural resources, etc. as we believe that feeding is a right and not a commodity.
The revolution will be international or it will be nothing!
